We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lifeguard to join our team at InsideHigherEd. As a Lifeguard, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our pool patrons by preventing and responding to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities- Prevent and respond to emergencies in the pool area, including rescues and first aid.
- Monitor pool conditions and report any hazards or concerns to management.
- Enforce pool rules and regulations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all patrons.
- Participate in regular training and drills to maintain and improve lifeguarding skills.
- Collaborate with other lifeguards and pool staff to ensure a smooth and safe operation.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Current certification in American Red Cross Lifeguard/First Aid/CPR for the Professional Rescuer, or equivalent.
- Ability to act swiftly in emergency situations using aquatic rescue equipment.
- Thorough knowledge and application of lifeguarding skills and rescue techniques to provide care for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses.
- Ability to make quick decisions and take decisive action.
- Assertive in enforcing facility rules and regulations consistently in a professional and customer service-oriented manner.
- Possess a willingness and ability to support a diverse and inclusive environment.
- Leadership and public relations skills.
- Must be responsible, alert, dependable and on time for scheduled shift.
