History Educator

Key Responsibilities:
* Teach grade relevant, subject matter specific, and mandated curriculum
* Develop and implement lesson plans and activities through in-person and virtual learning
* Communicate with district personnel, students, and/or parents
* Create a safe, engaging learning environment that promotes academic success, physical fitness, and life skills
* Assess, document, and prepare reports on student progress
* Supervise and manage student behavior
* Participate in student development and achievement-related conferences
Special Education Requirements:
* Identify educational needs and provide instruction to students with varying exceptionalities
* Instruct students based on needs as outlined in the Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
* Serve as the case manager for students with disabilities
Qualifications:
* Bachelor's degree from a Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved accredited college or university in the relevant educational field
* Valid Professional Standards Commission approved teaching certificate in the appropriate educational field
Additional Requirements:
* Special education teachers who issue grades must hold appropriate certification in service
* Valid Georgia Professional Standards Commission approved subject-specific endorsements required for ESOL & Gifted
* Minimum education requirements based on CTAE Specializations for Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE)
Working Conditions:
* Perform work independently under moderate supervision
* Apply foundational knowledge to perform the job effectively
