Job Summary:

As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting our team of experienced ophthalmologists and optometrists. Your primary responsibility will be to assist with patient care, perform various diagnostic tests, and maintain accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Acquaint patients with office procedures and inform them of the purpose of all tests.
  • Obtain patient history, including chief complaint, history of present illness, and past history.
  • Perform duties consistent with ophthalmic writer/scribe.
  • Assist physician with laser procedures and minor surgery.
  • Perform accurate and consistent documentation and measurement tasks.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED required; higher education preferred.
  • Certified Ophthalmic Assistant preferred, but not required.
  • Ophthalmic experience highly preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem-solving skills with analytical thinking.
  • Personable and empathetic with patient needs and concerns.
  • Well-organized with attention to detail and ability to work as a team member.
