KING'S INSURANCE STAFFING LLC is seeking a seasoned professional to fill the position of Chief Underwriting Officer - E&S Insurance. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading the underwriting function, ensuring profitability, and maintaining underwriting discipline.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and implement the underwriting strategy for E&S lines to align with the company's overall business objectives.
- Establish long-term goals and objectives to ensure growth and profitability.
- Oversee the evaluation, selection, and pricing of risks to ensure sound underwriting decisions.
- Monitor underwriting performance, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed.
- Create, review, and update underwriting policies, guidelines, and procedures to ensure consistency, compliance, and quality.
- Ensure adherence to regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Lead and manage the underwriting team, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
- Provide training, mentorship, and development opportunities for underwriters.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive dynamics.
- Develop new E&S products and services to meet market demands and expand the company's portfolio.
- Work closely with other departments, including claims, marketing, finance, and operations, to ensure cohesive and efficient business processes.
- Communicate underwriting policies and decisions to internal and external stakeholders effectively.
**Requirements**
- Extensive experience (10+ years) in underwriting, with a significant portion in E&S lines.
- 7+ years of E&S Underwriting Leadership experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Risk Management, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- Proven track record of leadership and management experience.
- Strong analytical and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of insurance regulations, industry standards, and market trends.
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Strong leadership and team-building capabilities.
- Financial acumen and understanding of profitability drivers in the insurance industry.
**Compensation and Benefits**
- $400,000 - $550,000 plus lucrative bonus (expected bonus based on company performance - $400,000 - $500,000+).
