Orthopedic Medical Assistant Practitioner

As a Medical Assistant on the CARE TEAM, you will contribute to outstanding patient experience by working with other providers and staff to ensure patients receive appropriate care. Your responsibilities will include performing administrative tasks, environmental tasks, and organizational tasks to ensure the clinic operates effectively.
What You'll Do
You will adhere to the scope of practice of a MA, room patients, take vital signs, and document patient visits in an electronic health record system. You will also ensure exam rooms are stocked, cleaned, and maintained for patient visits. Other responsibilities include complying with HIPAA, confidentiality, and state laws; answering patient calls and following up with patients; assisting with patient scheduling as needed; effectively communicating with patients, providers, and staff; maintaining a professional presence; and reporting concerns to appropriate staff members.

You will excel in this role if you are able to understand medical charts, diagnosis, and coding for billing purposes. You should demonstrate the ability to maintain a calm demeanor when under pressure. Additionally, you should have skill in operating a computer using a variety of software applications and an electronic health records system.
