Job Summary

As a Data Engineer 1 at Ohio's Hospice of Dayton, you will play a critical role in supporting the organization's data infrastructure and pipelines. Your primary responsibility will be to collaborate with data scientists and analysts to ensure efficient data flow and storage.

Key Responsibilities
  • Data Pipeline Development: Develop and maintain data pipelines for efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
  • Data Quality Assurance: Collaborate with data scientists and analysts to understand data requirements and ensure data quality.
  • Data Cleaning and Transformation: Perform data cleaning and transformation tasks to prepare raw data for analysis.
  • Database and Data Warehouse Maintenance: Assist in the development and maintenance of databases and data warehouses.
  • Troubleshooting and Root Cause Analysis: Troubleshoot data pipeline issues and perform root cause analysis.
  • Data Governance and Security: Implement data governance and security measures to ensure data integrity and compliance.
  • Staying Current with Emerging Technologies: Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices in data engineering.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer science, engineering, or an equivalent field required. Equivalent work experience will be considered.
  • Healthcare Experience: Healthcare industry experience preferred.
  • Professional Experience: 2+ years' professional experience or internship.
  • Technical Skills: Knowledge of SQL Server 2016/2019/2022 and strong T-SQL skills is required.
  • ETL Experience: Experience with ETL tools and techniques.
  • Database Systems: Knowledge of database systems (e.g., SQL, MongoDB, MySQL).
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills including the ability to effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical personnel.
  • Teamwork and Adaptability: Ability to work successfully and independently in an atmosphere of multiple projects, shifting priorities, and deadline pressures.
  • On-Call Schedule: Ability to work an on-call schedule that includes being available nights and weekends.
