Job Summary

Durham Technical Community College is seeking a qualified Adjunct Instructor to teach plumbing courses. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high-quality instruction and working closely with the Director of Construction Trades to plan and implement instruction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach plumbing courses, as assigned, for the full duration of scheduled instruction
  • Enforce academic policies and procedures, and comply with institutional rules and regulations
  • Assume responsibility for off-site/classroom preparation, including maintenance and clean-up
  • Complete mandatory training
Requirements
  • Must be a licensed plumbing contractor
  • Minimum of 5 years of on-the-job experience or a combination of training and experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant disciplines, including basic plumbing repair and installation
  • Knowledge of proper clothing, safety, tool use and maintenance
  • Ability to establish, maintain, and promote effective communication and interpersonal relations
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Personal integrity, honesty, and ability to maintain confidentiality
