Compass Minerals America Inc. invites applications for the role of Electrical Systems Engineer Lead, responsible for leading all aspects of electrical engineering at the plant and owning the plant's electrical distribution systems.

The successful candidate will be instrumental in plant project engineering and project management, ensuring operational integrity and regulatory compliance of the plant's electrical systems and electrical maintenance programs.

This is a challenging opportunity to contribute to the company's Sustainability and Energy Reduction goals by providing electrical engineering solutions to solve problems and developing long-term electrical infrastructure strategies.

As an Electrical Systems Engineer Lead, you will establish electrical standards and implement management systems to maintain those standards, design for electrical and control components of engineering projects, and monitor power consumption and energy charges.

You will also support and work closely with the site Controls System Team, prepare and submit capital appropriation requests, including payback and internal rate of return (IRR) calculations, and manage construction contractors and verification/quality control of work performed.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) from an accredited school, 8 years of electrical engineering experience in an industrial environment, and Microsoft Office proficiency.

A Registered Professional Engineering License is a plus, and preference given to those with knowledge and experience working with and trouble-shooting of electrical distribution systems ranging from 480V to 138 kV, Allen Bradley based PLC control systems, and large DC and AC motor drives control systems.
