Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Computed Tomography Technologist to join our team at Stanford Health Care. As a CT Technologist, you will be responsible for performing various CT procedures on sophisticated computerized equipment, ensuring high-quality images and excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer IV contrast in accordance with department policy.
  • Maintain and ensure that equipment and accessories are functioning properly, reporting any issues to the supervisor.
  • Evaluate CT scans for technical quality, collate processed images, and label them appropriately.
  • Transmit all exams to PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems).
  • Instruct and prepare patients for imaging procedures.
  • Perform specialized tasks associated with the operation of CT scanners and related equipment, adhering to prescribed radiation safety procedures.
  • Perform routine and specialized CT exams, maintaining a high degree of exam quality and proper DFOV (Display Field of View), protocol, name, and MRN (Medical Record Number).
  • Position patients for CT scans using immobilization and protective equipment as necessary.
  • Scan patients in a timely manner, adhering to department standards.
  • Efficiently prepare rooms for maximum utilization.
  • Troubleshoot reboots, call the help line, call service, and/or involve other individuals as appropriate.
Requirements
  • High school diploma.
  • One (1) year of progressively responsible and directly related work experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with diverse groups, including individuals at all levels within and outside the organization.
  • Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
  • Ability to perform complex diagnostic imaging procedures.
  • Ability to perform general and specialized radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures that meet the department's standard of quality.
  • Ability to troubleshoot, document, and communicate equipment problems.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team player.
  • Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and congenital/acquired pathology.
  • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in the functional area.
  • Knowledge of imaging processes and fluoroscopic techniques, methods, and equipment.
  • Knowledge of methods of positioning patients.
  • Knowledge of principles of image processing and development applicable to diagnostic imaging.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for providers issued by the American Heart Association.
  • California Certified Radiologic Technologist (CRT) certification.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist-Registered Technologist – Radiography (ARRT-RTR) certification.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologist-Computer Tomography Technologist (ARRT-CT) certification within 1 year.
  • Venipuncture Cert within 30 Days (VEN).
