Job Summary:

The Optometric Technician is a key member of our team at Community Health Centers, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and performing various tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our optical center.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Pre-Screening Exams: Conduct thorough pre-screening exams to assess patients' vision and eye health.
  • Exam Room Maintenance: Maintain a clean and hygienic work area and exam room to ensure a comfortable and safe environment for patients.
  • Patient History: Complete patient visual history and maintain accurate records.
  • Referrals and Follow-up: Prepare referrals, follow-up paperwork, and associated tasks to ensure seamless communication with patients and healthcare providers.
  • Eyewear Assistance: Assist patients in selecting frames according to their insurance allowance and assist in ordering and dispensing eyewear.
  • Inventory Management: Maintain proper inventory of eyewear and supplies.
  • Efficiency and Productivity: Follow policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the optical center.
Qualifications:
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification: Current/valid BLS certification, or must be obtained within the first 30 days of employment.
  • Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience in the optical/tech field preferred.

  • Teamwork: Effective team player with excellent communication skills.
  • Customer Service: Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on patient satisfaction.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
