Role Overview

The Signal Processing Engineer will be responsible for the design and implementation of Radio Frequency (RF) communication systems while leading a dedicated team of engineers and developers to enhance rapid response capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development team and collaborate with the Project Lead on project timelines, risk management, and testing procedures.
  • Engage with technical team members from various departments in a collaborative environment.
  • Ensure the maintenance of systems and documentation necessary for development and ongoing operations.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in signal processing development.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • At least 10 years of experience in signal processing development.

Required Skills

  • Proven ability to manage tasks, drive projects to completion, and integrate project information effectively in a fast-paced setting.
  • Capability to transition between projects in a dynamic work environment.
  • Strong communication skills for articulating technical approaches within small project teams and presenting to leadership.
  • Proficient programming skills (e.g., Python, C/C++, Bash).
  • Experience in a Linux development environment.
  • Familiarity with Digital Signal Processing and Software Defined Radios.

Desired Skills

  • Commitment to staying updated with emerging technologies and advancements in existing solutions.
  • Knowledge of various SATCOM systems and RF signals.
  • Understanding of IP network transport and protocols.
  • Experience with GPU architectures and CUDA for software development.
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues remotely.
  • Deep knowledge of SATCOM protocols, systems, and standards.
  • Competence in reading, writing, and interpreting complex technical documents.
  • Experience working with Docker containers.
  • Review, analyze, and modify systems, including coding, testing, debugging, and documentation.

Travel Requirements

This position may involve overnight travel, approximately 10% of the time, with trip durations varying from overnight to several weeks.

Security Clearance

Applicants must possess an active Top Secret / SCI clearance, with at least one year remaining before the next five-year update. Eligibility for DoD security clearance requires U.S. citizenship.
