ROLE SUMMARY:
This position involves assessing jewelry, securing consignments, fostering client relationships, and managing leads among other responsibilities.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assess jewelry and provide auction estimates.
  • Secure consignments through various channels.
  • Conduct research and authenticate jewelry pieces.
  • Promote auction lots to a diverse clientele.
  • Enhance the client database through outreach.
  • Address client inquiries throughout the auction process.
  • Travel as necessary to meet clients and evaluate potential consignments.
  • Engage in auction previews and final sales.
  • Conduct formal appraisals for market value and replacement purposes.
  • Additional tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • GIA Graduate Gemologist diploma is essential.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is preferred or a suitable combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in a prominent auction house or as a commercial dealer specializing in estate jewelry is preferred.
