Brevard County is seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic II to join its team. This role involves performing skilled crafts and trades work in the maintenance and complex repair of heavy diesel and/or gasoline vehicles and equipment.

The ideal candidate will possess six years of experience in heavy equipment mechanics, including two years of diesel engine mechanics. A valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver license and Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certifications are also required.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around $24.18 to $26.60 hourly, based on industry standards and location.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Maintaining and repairing heavy equipment and vehicles
  • Diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues
  • Performing routine maintenance tasks

This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. The employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed in the event of a hurricane or other natural disaster.

Physical requirements include lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as standing, walking, sitting, and driving for extended periods.
