POSITION OVERVIEW

The Full Stack Developer role focuses on the design and enhancement of software solutions within the D&H application ecosystem, emphasizing Java-based applications and web technologies such as Java Server Pages and Angular. The primary duties involve analyzing project requests, gathering requirements, and creating both high-level and detailed technical designs, alongside coding, testing, and documenting solutions. Strong communication skills are essential, as the role requires collaboration with both IT and business stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Design and Development:

  • Gain a comprehensive understanding of existing applications and environments.
  • Apply knowledge of design patterns and standards effectively.
  • Create applications utilizing complex computational logic (e.g., algorithms, statistics).
  • Develop applications that leverage shared resources (e.g., database, messaging solutions).
  • Implement applications that handle complex interactive/UI processing.
  • Possess 3 to 4 years of experience in Java and related frameworks such as Spring Boot.
  • Have 2 to 3 years of experience in designing and developing REST APIs.
  • Show 1 to 2 years of experience with UI frameworks like Angular, React, or Bootstrap.
  • Design and develop server-side applications in a multi-tenant environment.
  • Collaborate with system and enterprise architects to research and develop solutions.
  • Read and interpret technical specifications accurately.
  • Utilize source control systems for application development.
  • Implement CI/CD strategies and tools effectively.

Problem Solving:

  • Identify complex issues using various internal and external tools.
  • Resolve design and logic errors within applications.
  • Differentiate between system, application, and procedural issues, providing appropriate solutions.
  • Exhibit strong systems thinking with a focus on reliability and scalability.
  • Investigate error conditions in integrated applications and propose corrective solutions.

Testing and Production:

  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of test-driven development methodologies.
  • Create controlled unit test data for applications.
  • Verify results and support integrated application testing.
  • Prepare test scripts for applications.
  • Work closely with QA and Business Analyst teams during testing phases.
  • Coordinate with Release Management for application releases.
  • Familiarize with testing strategies such as A/B testing, smoke testing, and integration testing to ensure quality delivery.

Documentation:

  • Identify and update all documentation affected by application changes.
  • Create documentation for new applications or processes.
  • Prepare user manuals and operational instructions for new or modified systems.
  • Provide clear instructions for users regarding problem resolutions and updates.

User Support:

  • Assist users with routine application inquiries.
  • Keep users informed about upcoming enhancements and changes.
  • Monitor user satisfaction regarding application features.
  • Explain technical issues to both Help Desk staff and non-technical users.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Proficiency in programming languages relevant to this role.
  • Core Java knowledge.
  • Understanding of object-oriented programming and encapsulation principles.
  • SQL proficiency.
  • Familiarity with Service-Oriented Architecture.
  • Experience with Web Services (SOAP and REST).
  • Proficient in Eclipse IDE.
  • Knowledge of JavaScript, Bootstrap, Angular, and jQuery.
  • Preferred knowledge in .Net/C#, HTML, CSS, XSL, Hibernate, Maven, Spring, and Spring Boot.
  • Familiarity with Team Foundation Server.
  • Understanding of the Windows operating environment.
  • Experience with SQL Server or similar database software.

EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:

  • A college degree in Computer Science is preferred but not mandatory.
  • An Associate degree in Computer Science is advantageous.
