Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Licensed Vocational Nurse to join our team at Christus Health. As a Licensed Vocational Nurse, you will provide professional nursing care to clinic patients, working collaboratively with providers to ensure quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide general nursing care to patients, administering treatments in accordance with nursing standards.
  • Assist with the preparation of equipment and aid providers during treatment, examination, and testing of patients.
  • Observe, record, and report patients' condition and reaction to drugs or treatments to providers.
  • Oversee appointment bookings and ensure preferences are given to patients in emergency situations, maintaining a timely flow of patients.
  • Greets patients and obtains well-documented history and vitals, prepares patients for physical exam, and instructs patients in collection of samples and tests.
  • Perform tasks in accordance with established procedures and as prescribed by applicable licensure/certification, including obtaining/recorded vital signs, performing initial assessment on patient, coordinating patient transfer to hospital and/or discharge, giving telephone orders, accepting telephone test results, performing telephone triage, calling in provider-approved prescription refills, specimen collection, and more.

Requirements:

  • CERT
  • LVN License in state of employment or compact
  • BLS
