Join Our Team as a Behavioral Support Technician
Are you dedicated to making a difference in the lives of children with autism? At New Story School, we are on the lookout for a passionate Behavioral Support Technician to provide individualized support and facilitate learning through Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques. This full-time role offers a chance to work closely with children in both one-on-one and small group settings, fostering their development and social skills.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain an organized and effective instructional environment.
  • Prepare and ensure accessibility of reinforcement and necessary materials.
  • Deliver direct therapeutic interventions to assigned clients.
  • Implement programs as outlined in treatment plans under the guidance of your Supervisor.
  • Collect and analyze data on skill acquisition and behavior reduction during sessions.
  • Document session outcomes in a parent communication note or formal session report as directed by your Supervisor.
  • Utilize various instructional methods including discrete trials, naturalistic approaches, and verbal behavior techniques as instructed.
  • Monitor client progress and stay informed about their current skill levels.
  • Execute behavior support strategies as per Supervisor's direction.
  • Exhibit accurate application of skills learned in training sessions and adapt based on feedback.
  • Recognize when additional interventions are necessary and communicate these needs to your Supervisor.
Physical and Sensory Requirements:
  • Ability to perform non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including verbal and physical redirection of students during challenging situations.
  • Quick reflexes and mobility to safely redirect students who may pose a risk to themselves or others.
  • Capability to assist in evacuating students during emergencies.
  • Maintain full certification in assigned crisis management programs.
