Field Service Technician, Regional - Michigan Territory

Nidec Minster Corporation is seeking a dedicated Regional Field Service Technician to operate primarily within the Michigan area. This role involves delivering expert technical assistance and maintenance to ensure optimal performance of Minster equipment. The technician will oversee and guide personnel in the setup of machinery at client facilities and provide training on the proper maintenance and operation of Minster products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver technical and maintenance support for customers utilizing Minster's metal forming machinery.
  • Commission both new and refurbished metal forming equipment at client sites.
  • Conduct audits of customer equipment and document all necessary repairs.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports in English, maintaining a high level of professionalism.
  • Encourage the sale of service parts and preventative maintenance agreements.
  • Adapt work hours to meet customer service demands.
  • Travel extensively, with over 75% of travel focused in the Michigan region.

Qualifications:

  • Proficient in electrical and electronic troubleshooting and installation methods.
  • Experience in mechanical press repair and a solid understanding of machinery in a manufacturing context.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to represent Nidec Minster Corporation positively in various business and social environments.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Willingness to undertake significant domestic and international travel.
  • Candidates should be residents of the Michigan region or be open to relocating.
  • Preferred candidates will be located near major cities in Michigan.
