  • Referral Coordination: Coordinate and monitor daily work flow processes and activities to ensure timely and accurate referral processing.
  • Customer Service: Serve as the first-line resource for all customers (internal/external) with regards to insurance and referrals, providing accurate and timely information and resolving issues in a positive and professional manner.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate and current referral logs on all patients, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaison: Serve as a liaison between patients and insurance companies, explaining requirements and ensuring compliance with referral and authorization processes.
  • Teamwork: Collaborate with internal and external staff to resolve patient questions and complaints regarding referral and insurance issues.
Requirements
  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Experience: One year of computer experience and one year of clerical or clinical experience in a medical practice setting required.
  • Skills: Basic keyboarding ability, telephone and interpersonal etiquette, and knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
