Position Summary
The Logistics Operations Supervisor at GLOVIS America is responsible for overseeing all facets of vehicle processing and shipment operations at the Savannah Vehicle Processing Center (VPC). This role entails managing vendor relationships, ensuring adherence to safety regulations, and providing comprehensive operational reports to senior management and stakeholders.
Compensation
$94k-$105k/ Year (Compensation determined upon candidate selection)
Key Responsibilities
- Vendor Management and Compliance
- Ensure compliance with contracts established between GLOVIS America and its vendors.
- Provide daily operational guidance to contracted vendors.
- Reporting and Communication
- Generate and deliver daily operational reports to senior management and stakeholders.
- Maintain regular communication with local rail providers and Class 1 railroads.
- Provide accurate forecasts to meet empty railcar demand.
- Rail and Truck Operations
- Supervise the rail switching crew to ensure railcars are switched and positioned for loading according to AAR standards.
- Manage the local vehicle logistics team responsible for truck operations.
- Performance Monitoring and Improvement
- Conduct analyses to ensure key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved.
- Implement ongoing process improvements across all areas of responsibility.
- Systems and Safety Management
- Utilize internal systems for vehicle logistics management, including SAP.
- Ensure strict compliance with all safety protocols and standards.
- Facility Oversight
- Ensure the facility is well-maintained and report any issues to senior management promptly.
- Provide a safe and secure working environment.

Qualifications
Skills Required
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles
- Experience in Vehicle Logistics is preferred
- Bachelor's Degree is required
- Master's Degree is preferred
- 7-10 years of experience in Manufacturing or Logistics is required
- 8-11 years of experience in Automotive Vehicle Logistics is preferred
- Ability to operate vehicles, including cars, trucks, SUVs, rail loading ramps, and golf carts.
- Ability to use a laptop, computer, mouse, printer, phone, and copy/fax machine.
- Ability to sit, stand, walk, drive, bend, stoop, climb, reach above shoulder, kneel, squat, balance, push/pull, crawl, and lift up to 25 lbs.
