About the Mobile Crisis Team

The Mobile Crisis Team is a trained multidisciplinary response team that provides crisis intervention services in various settings. Our team is dedicated to interrupting and ameliorating the crisis experience, and we strive to build strong relationships and a successful reputation in providing efficient and quality crisis services within a five-county region.

Responder Position Summary

The Mobile Crisis Licensed Responder will work alongside Mobile Crisis Responders and Peers, primarily responsible for conducting clinical assessments and providing crisis intervention services. The Licensed Responder will respond to individuals in crisis telephonically or in-person, or via telehealth as needed. Additional follow-up services may be provided depending on the level of need.

Responder Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to determine the need for further evaluation.
  • Provide psychotherapy and psychosocial rehabilitation counseling services to remediate psychiatric or substance use symptoms, resolve conflict, deescalate crises, monitor for and address high-risk behaviors, maintain stabilization following a crisis episode, and prevent escalation of behavioral health symptoms.
  • Make treatment recommendations and referral to other behavioral health services as clinically indicated.
Responder Qualifications

Licensed or permitted in New York State as one of the following: LMSW, LCSW, LMHC, LMFT, Licensed Creative Arts Therapist, Licensed Behavioral Analyst, Physician, including Psychiatrist and Addictionologist/Addiction Specialist, Nurse Practitioner, Registered Nurse, Physician Assistant, Licensed Psychologist, Licensed Psychoanalyst, Occupational Therapist who meets the qualifications set forth in 42 C.F.R b)(2).

Two (2) years post-graduate mental health experience, including relevant experience providing crisis intervention support, transitional support, and care coordination.

Must demonstrate competence in de-escalation and aggression management.

Must be willing to participate in all required federal, state, county, and agency training, including Narcan administration, evidence-based assessments, person-centered, and trauma-informed approaches.

Fosters an inclusive environment and demonstrates the values of diversity, equity, and belonging.

Demonstrates a high standard of professionalism and collaborative efforts when working with law enforcement, providers, and other collaterals.

Must possess a valid NYS driver's license and access to reliable transportation.
