About the Position

The Department of Political Science at The University of Alabama invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position, commencing August 15, 2025. The successful candidate will be expected to contribute to the department's research and teaching mission, with a focus on either (1) the politics of groups and identities in American politics, or (2) public policy and/or public administration through the lens of group differences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in political science, including introductory courses, upper-level electives, and seminars

  • Develop and maintain a strong research program, with a focus on group politics and public policy
