Job Overview

Position Summary:

The Preschool Education Associate will play a vital role in the planning, development, and execution of engaging activities within our preschool classroom. This role requires hands-on leadership and may involve early morning responsibilities.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Lead Teacher to create and implement daily lesson plans.
  • Engage actively with children to foster a positive learning environment.
  • Facilitate effective communication with parents regarding their child's progress.
  • Prepare necessary materials for daily educational activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and child arrival/departure times.
  • Ensure the safety and supervision of children at all times.
  • Assist in organizing parent-teacher conferences as required.
  • Communicate efficiently with the classroom teaching team to ensure smooth operations.

Compensation:

$18.00 per hour; Full-time, Non-Exempt (40 hours/week)

Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications include an Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential, along with relevant childcare experience. Candidates should demonstrate the ability to interact positively with diverse populations and possess a genuine interest in working with young children.

Certifications Required:

  • Blood Borne Pathogen training.
  • CPR and First Aid Certification within the first 60 days of employment.
  • State of Michigan criminal background clearance.
  • Fingerprinting and DHS clearance.
  • Negative T.B. skin test and documentation of a physical exam.
