Job Summary

The YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Early Learning Assistant Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our early childhood education program, you will play a vital role in creating a nurturing and engaging environment for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of daily lesson plans
  • Engage with children in the classroom, promoting social, emotional, and cognitive development
  • Communicate effectively with parents and caregivers, ensuring a smooth transition between home and school
  • Prepare materials and resources for daily activities, maintaining a safe and organized classroom environment
  • Supervise children during activities, ensuring their physical and emotional well-being
  • Collaborate with the lead teacher to plan and implement parent-teacher conferences
  • Communicate effectively with the classroom teaching team, ensuring a cohesive and supportive learning environment
Requirements
  • Infant Toddler CDA credential or Associates/Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education
  • Three to six months childcare-related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles
  • Working knowledge of computers and experience with software applications
