Job Summary

The role of a Yoga Instructor at East Bank Club is to lead classes in specialized formats, leveraging expertise in yoga teaching and programming. This position requires experience with advanced yoga equipment such as the Yoga Wall, Isawall, or Iyengar Rope Wall system.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Design personalized yoga programs tailored to meet the needs of our diverse membership.
  • Demonstrate and explain proper form and technique, using hands-on guidance as prescribed by their yoga training program.
  • Provide physical assistance when necessary and appropriate.
  • Maintain an accurate online schedule, updated at least two weeks in advance.
  • Ensure current group class students are registered for the next session upon request.
  • Clearly communicate and adhere to studio and club policies.
  • Respond promptly to email inquiries before and after every shift.
  • Address member scheduling requests in a timely manner.
  • Record late cancellations and no-call/no-shows with relevant details.
  • Educate first-time students on studio etiquette and policies.
  • Serve as a knowledgeable ambassador for departmental programs.
  • Stay informed about other departments within the club.
  • Maintain up-to-date certifications, including CPR.
  • Awareness of and adherence to the scope of practice for a Yoga Instructor.
  • Attend mandatory staff meetings.
  • Participate in at least one continuing education workshop annually.

All Other Job Duties: As assigned by management.

Requirements:

  • Current Yoga Alliance-approved certification.
  • Experience with advanced yoga equipment.
  • A minimum of 1 year of teaching experience.
  • Strong knowledge of essential contraindications.
  • Excellent oral communication skills.
  • Effective written communication skills.
  • Exceptional member service skills.
  • Ability to work with special populations and adapt workouts accordingly.
