Position: AQUATIC SAFETY OFFICER
Job Overview: The YMCA of Central New York is seeking a dedicated Aquatic Safety Officer to ensure a secure and welcoming environment for all participants. This role is essential in maintaining safe swimming conditions in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Reporting Structure: Reports directly to the Aquatics Coordinator.
Employment Type: Part-time; non-exempt.
Work Schedule: Shifts available from early morning to evening.
Compensation: $15.00 per hour.

  • Attend all required meetings and training sessions.
  • Contribute to the overall success of the organization beyond assigned duties.
Required Qualifications:
  • Minimum age of 15.
  • Ability to maintain physical and mental readiness for certification.
  • Demonstrated lifeguard skills in line with organizational standards.
Certifications:
  • Completion of annual safety and prevention training.
  • Certifications in CPR/AED, first aid, and emergency oxygen administration.
Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to perform all lifeguard duties effectively.
  • Capability to hear distress signals in the aquatic environment.
  • Maintain alertness without lapses in attention.
  • Ability to observe all areas of responsibility.
Work Environment: This position operates in a recreational setting, with potential exposure to various health risks. Adherence to health policies is mandatory.
Compensation Details: $15 per hour.
