Responsibilities

  • Provide training and education to individuals in various areas, including daily living skills and personal care.
  • Complete required documentation in patient and unit records, including vital signs and patient data.
  • Ensure the safety and security of clients, observing and documenting their behavior and activity.
  • Prepare clients for treatments or examinations, and assist with bathing and activities of daily living.
  • Transport and accompany individuals to appointments and activities, and participate in providing a safe and secure environment.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary treatment teams and crisis de-escalation, and serve on hospital-wide committees.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma or GED, and one year of experience providing direct care services to mental health and/or substance abuse and/or developmentally delayed individuals. You will also need to undergo a national and state background check as a condition of employment.

Preferred Skills

Preference will be given to candidates who have experience working in a hospital, nursing home, or group home setting, and who possess skills in group facilitation and crisis de-escalation.
