Hoyle Tanner has an immediate opening for a Senior Project Engineer in our Northeast Municipal Engineering Services Group (NEME). Senior Project Engineer - Civil

The right candidate will be a strong contributor on a team tasked with delivering public and private land development projects. Responsible for design coordination with Project Manager, project team, subconsultants, local and state agencies, for preparation of calculations, layouts, estimates and design plans under Project Managers.

As a Senior Project Engineer, you will:

  • Hold the lead role in an integrated, civil team that solves technical project challenges of all types.
  • Work with Project Managers on the project budget, scope of services, project schedule and project development.
  • Be a primary contributor or writer for the development of technical and price proposals.
  • Monitor and review spent hours and dollars versus percent complete in relation to project timelines and budget and provide recommendations to the Project Manager to stay on track.
  • Understand the client's organization and develop professional relationships with client peers.
  • Lead the design for land development projects with tasks including site layout, grading, stormwater design and utility design.
  • Manage engineering staff and prioritize technical tasks to meet changes in schedule or resource availability.
  • Be proficient in technical writing, editing, and presentations.
  • Identify areas of improvement and regularly share best practices and/or improve processes.
  • Develop person-hour estimates and budgets.
  • Act as a technical lead and demonstrate a specialized skill in a subject matter and its application on relevant projects.
  • Potentially be the primary team member responsible for overall quality control of the project.
  • This position allows for career growth within Hoyle Tanner on a technical engineering track or project management track.

Requirements

Qualified Candidates:

  • BSCE Degree required
  • 10+ Years of relevant experience.
  • Current PE in either NH, MA, ME, or VT with ability to obtain reciprocal licenses.

Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil3D, HydroCAD, and other related design civil design software is desired.
