Job Summary

L.L.Bean is seeking a skilled Automation Mechanical Technician to join its Maintenance Team in Freeport, Maine. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing automated maintenance functions, troubleshooting complex industrial equipment, and ensuring the safe operation of machinery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on complex industrial equipment, including Kuka robots, automated systems, and pneumatic equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical issues, including those related to fluid power and electrical energy.
  • Provide second-level support for complex problems and act as a resource for leaders, engineering, and project managers.
  • Collaborate with internal clients to support new and existing technology requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all new and existing installations.
  • Act as a mentor and support technician, providing guidance and expertise to junior technicians.
  • Identify and report hazardous conditions or actions that may cause injury or property damage.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; vocational/technical degree preferred.
  • 2-5 years of experience in industrial equipment maintenance.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to create and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Knowledge and experience with NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace).
  • Able to troubleshoot complex controls, including experience adjusting and programming parameter settings with HMI's, I.O.'s, VFD's.
  • Valid state driver's license required.
