Lead Electrical Estimator

We are collaborating with a well-respected Electrical Contractor in search of a Senior Electrical Estimator to enhance their growing team. The successful candidate will possess a solid background in electrical construction along with substantial experience in estimating, demonstrating exceptional computer proficiency and leadership capabilities. Strong organizational skills and effective communication, both written and verbal, are essential for this role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the estimating team, delegating tasks for each project
  • Calculate electrical construction costs by analyzing available documentation
  • Evaluate projects for potential value engineering opportunities, taking into account specific job conditions that may influence labor and materials
  • Review project plans and specifications to determine requirements and formulate bid proposals
  • Identify discrepancies, conflicts, and other issues within bid documents
  • Solicit subcontractor and supplier information and pricing
  • Prepare bid solicitation instructions, bid forms, and related documentation
  • Assess specialty contractor bids and scopes
  • Explore alternative methods to pinpoint the most cost-effective solutions
  • Build strong relationships with clients, design teams, suppliers, and user groups to align with company values and exceed expectations
  • Keep stakeholders informed regarding bid projects
  • Engage in industry, client, and community relations to bolster the company's reputation
  • Foster positive relationships with vendors and clients
  • Participate in project turnover meetings with the operations team after project awards
  • Promote and maintain a safe working environment

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical estimating
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with industry-standard estimating software
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and proactive problem identification
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with relationship-building expertise
  • Effective problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Excellent time management and prioritization skills
  • Leadership and team development skills
