Clinical Nurse I

VCU Health is seeking highly skilled and compassionate Clinical Nurses to join our team in the Medical Intermediate and Intensive Care Unit. As a Clinical Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our healthcare team.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality patient care, adhering to established medical orders and integrated, multidisciplinary plans of care.
- Assist the healthcare team in preventing illness and injury, maintaining wellness, and providing comfort to patients and families.
- Provide direction, education, and leadership to colleagues, promoting a supportive and nurturing environment.
- Safely administer prescribed medications, identifying potential incompatibilities and interactions.
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development to enhance clinical knowledge and skills.
- Clinical Nurse I: Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible/compact state, no prior experience required.
- Clinical Nurse II: 12-24 months RN experience, current RN licensure in Virginia, AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
- Clinical Nurse III: 3 years of clinical experience, current RN licensure in Virginia, AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
- Clinical Nurse I: Experience as an LPN, nursing assistant, or care partner in an acute care setting.
- Clinical Nurse II and III: Academic healthcare experience, experience with similar patient populations in an acute care setting.
- Diploma or Associates Degree from a professional nursing program recognized and/or approved by the corresponding state's Board of Nursing.
- Completion of a Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (or higher) from an accredited program.
VCU Health is a dynamic and fast-paced environment, requiring strong communication and problem-solving skills. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively in a team setting, prioritize tasks, and maintain a calm and composed demeanor in high-pressure situations.
Physical and Mental DemandsThe Clinical Nurse role requires prolonged standing, sitting, and walking, as well as frequent bending and reaching. The successful candidate will be able to lift 20-50 pounds and work in a noisy environment with frequent and intense customer interactions.
