Position Summary:
The Senior Care Escort plays a crucial role in accompanying participants to their medical appointments, ensuring their safety throughout the visit, and assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) as needed. When not engaged in escort duties, this position will support the operations of the adult day care center as directed by the Floor Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Attend scheduled and unscheduled appointments as assigned by the Floor Manager.
- Provide necessary personal care for participants during appointments, including transfers and assistance with mobility.
- Communicate essential appointment-related information to the Floor Manager and Clinic Participant Manager.
- Maintain an organized folder with a list of weekly scheduled appointments for participants.
- Adhere to timekeeping protocols and report any discrepancies to the Floor Manager.
- Ensure that participants' meals and snacks are prepared and verified by the Floor Manager.
- Participate in monthly staff meetings and mandatory training sessions.
- Maintain all required equipment and supplies for escort duties.
- Report daily to the Floor Manager for assignments and transport participants to appointments using personal vehicle.
- Respond to emergencies during appointments, coordinating with the Clinic Participant Manager and Floor Manager as necessary.
- Assist with center operations when not assigned to escort duties, including supporting participants with ADLs and inventory management.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Qualifications:
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant in Texas is preferred.
- A minimum of one year of experience in caring for frail elderly individuals is required.
- Current CPR certification and Food Handler's Card are mandatory.
- Experience in providing personal care is essential.
- Bilingual candidates (English/Spanish) are preferred.
- Reliable transportation with a valid Texas Driver's License and proof of insurance is required.
- Must complete twelve hours of in-service training annually.
- Attendance at the Annual Skills Fair is required to maintain competencies.
- All immunizations must be current as per company policies.
