Electric Materials Co is expanding its Quality Assurance Division

Position Summary: The Quality Engineer role is pivotal in managing quality assurance functions within the manufacturing or production sector. This position entails the execution of quality control protocols, assisting in testing and inspection processes, pinpointing production, process, or product discrepancies, and proposing corrective measures to uphold and enhance quality standards.

Primary Responsibilities:

  1. Formulate and execute quality control strategies, procedures, and practices for manufacturing operations.
  2. Offer technical assistance regarding inspections and quality assessments on incoming materials, ongoing production, and final products.
  3. Examine and interpret statistical data and product specifications to establish standards and define quality goals.
  4. Detect root causes of quality concerns and collaborate with production, engineering, and other departments to implement corrective actions.
  5. Ensure adherence to quality standards and protocols, including ISO, nuclear, and other regulatory requirements.
  6. Document and communicate quality assurance activities, test outcomes, and process deviations through the DMR and RMA systems.
  7. Educate and assist production staff in quality control practices and methodologies.
  8. Engage in internal and external quality audits.
  9. Work with suppliers and clients to address quality challenges and enhance overall product quality.
  10. Supervise gage repeatability and reproducibility evaluations.
  11. Keep abreast of industry standards and advancements in quality assurance practices.
  12. Perform additional duties as assigned by the Quality Manager.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality assurance or quality control within a manufacturing context.
  • Solid grasp of quality control standards and methodologies.
  • Familiarity with metrology and GD&T.
  • Experience with quality assurance methodologies and tools (e.g., Lean Manufacturing, PPAP, APQP, etc.).
  • Capability to analyze data and derive actionable insights.
  • Exceptional problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and precision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ERP systems.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification in Quality Management (e.g., ASQ Certified Quality Engineer, Auditor, or other professional credentials).
  • Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AMSE NQA-1, etc.).

Work Environment:

  • Typically operates in a manufacturing or production setting.
  • May necessitate occasional travel to customer or supplier locations.
