An exciting opportunity exists for a Senior Analyst specializing in Global Fixed Income Fund Ratings. This role is pivotal within our Fund Ratings Team.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong capacity for conducting thorough analytical evaluations and will be proficient in performing credit assessments of fixed income mutual funds, alongside developing comprehensive research and analytical reports grounded in fundamental analysis.


Key Responsibilities:


The selected candidate will oversee the ratings for a diverse portfolio of money market and bond funds, which includes fixed income ETFs, LGIPs, and SMEs. This responsibility will be undertaken in collaboration with a senior analyst and other seasoned team members, with a significant emphasis on 2a-7 funds based in the U.S.

The role necessitates meticulous preparation and leadership in discussions with senior management teams to gather and evaluate information pertinent to the credit quality of money market and bond funds, articulating our credit rating assessments both verbally and in written form.

Exceptional presentation and organizational capabilities are essential to effectively convey detailed information and well-reasoned opinions to our credit rating committees.


Candidate Profile:


Prior experience in fixed income mutual funds is highly desirable; however, candidates with a background as credit analysts in other financial sectors or insurance will also be considered. The ability to swiftly assimilate, analyze, and respond to new information is crucial.

The successful candidate will thrive in an environment that fosters continuous improvement and innovation, while upholding the highest standards of customer service in alignment with established ratings criteria, methodologies, policies, and procedures.

Demonstrated analytical excellence and strong presentation skills are required for engaging with both senior external and internal stakeholders, ensuring the quality and timeliness of our analyses are rigorously maintained and enhanced.


Essential Qualifications:


Minimum of 3 years of experience in an asset management firm or financial services organization, including commercial or investment banking, focusing on credit or financial analysis of U.S. and/or Canadian companies.
Master's degree or MBA in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Engineering, or Mathematics is preferred.
Strong analytical abilities with a comprehensive understanding of financial statements, accounting principles, and banking operations.
A proactive approach to learning and conducting independent analysis and research.
Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and database applications.
Capability to develop forecasts based on logical assumptions is required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a willingness to learn and contribute.
Willingness to travel occasionally with short notice.


Preferred Qualifications:
CFA accreditation is advantageous.
