About the Role:
Woodfords Family Services is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Foster Family Support Worker to join their team. As a Foster Family Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing one-on-one support to foster children in their home and community, focusing on daily living, social interaction, behavior management, and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to foster children, promoting their physical, emotional, and social well-being.
- Develop and implement personalized plans to address the unique needs of each child, in collaboration with the foster family and other relevant stakeholders.
- Facilitate communication between the foster family, child, and other professionals involved in the child's care, ensuring a cohesive and supportive environment.
- Assist foster families in managing challenging behaviors, providing strategies and resources to promote positive outcomes.
- Collaborate with the Woodfords Family Services team to ensure seamless support and services for foster children and families.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent education required.
- Minimum of six months experience working with children; experience with special needs children preferred.
- Valid State of Maine driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
- Understanding of child development, developmental disabilities, and mental health needs.
What We Offer:
- Casual hours with flexible schedule requirements.
- Starting pay at $18.00 per hour.
- $375 Sign-on Bonus after 6 months of employment.
