Job Title: Senior Linux Network Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Linux Network Administrator to join our team at ASRC Federal. This is a critical role that requires a strong background in Linux administration, network infrastructure, and security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, install, configure, administer, operate, maintain, monitor, troubleshoot, and document classified and unclassified MDDC Program systems and networks and associated equipment, devices, and software in accordance with applicable MDA and DoD guidance, instructions, procedures, and processes.
  • Ensure IT systems are fully functional for all operational and support activities hosted and serviced by the MDDC Program.
  • Provide essential Linux system administration support for hardware in support of the MDDC Program for classified and unclassified systems.
  • Work with existing Linux installations as well as build new systems.
  • Collaborate with vendors to support current Linux-based software installations and maintain systems in compliance.
  • Work closely with Program Management, Information Assurance, software development, analysis groups, and end-users to understand and implement requirements necessary to MDDC Program operations and activities.
  • Provide guidance and support with technical expertise, instruction, and advice in relation to MDDC Program IT processes and operations based on applicable MDA and DoD security provisions, technical guidance, and documented instructions to meet all MDA and customer goals.
  • Anticipate IT-related issues and implement proactive preventive measures.
  • Develop, sustain, and update documentation for Information Technology processes and procedures. Perform regular and on-demand system backups and recoveries.
  • Maintain IT databases and perform light programming tasks in relation to system administration needs. Research, evaluate, and recommend new and emerging IT systems technologies to advance and support MDDC Program requirements.
  • Lead, train, and support the work of other junior staff engaged in system administration functions.
  • Assist with Government Furnished Equipment/Government Furnished Property (GFE/GFP) contract hardware/software maintenance, repairs, and processes.
  • Responsible for maintaining inventory and organization of different types of software and hardware resources. IA certification IAW DoD Instruction M required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or other technical discipline.
  • Fifteen (15) years + of experience. An additional four (4) years experience may be substituted for degree.
  • This position requires DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification.
  • Working knowledge of a wide range of datacenter technologies including: Linux Administration, Local (LAN) and wide-area networks (WAN); Network protocols such as TCP/IP, WINS, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, SMB, etc.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and operate in a dynamic enterprise environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Proficient in RHEL and CentOS.
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and solid data entry skills.
  • Ability to provide examples of being proactive and taking initiative in carrying out daily responsibilities.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of our customer base and provide excellent customer responsiveness.
  • Knowledge of MDA Test Activities Preferred.
  • Must have a current, active Secret clearance OR the ability to obtain a Secret clearance (US Citizenship Required) before employment can start.
