About the Position

We are seeking an accomplished psychologist to serve as the Director of Pain Psychology in the UCSF Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Care. This full-time faculty position is available at the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor.

Key Responsibilities
  • Foster a high standard of pain psychology care at the UCSF Pain Management Center.
  • Foster innovative new pain psychology care models, within the department and in collaboration with other departments.
  • Foster clinical research in pain psychology among faculty working at the UCSF Pain Management Center and broadly within the Department of Anesthesia & Perioperative Care.
  • Mentor junior pain psychology faculty within the practice and foster retention of existing faculty.
  • Foster educational programs for trainees in pain psychology and pain medicine.

Requirements
  • PhD in Psychology.
  • Completion of postdoctoral training in health psychology, with a preference for an APA-accredited clinical fellowship in pain psychology.
  • Licensed to practice in California.
What We Offer

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $112,500 - $297,200. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
