Qualifications:

Applicants should possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience or hold a High School Diploma/GED.

  • Essential Skills: Proficiency in conducting assessments of non-paved road conditions. Training will be provided.
  • Familiarity with Windows, MS Word, and MS Excel is required.
Key Responsibilities:

This role involves evaluating the surface conditions of aggregate roads, gravel roads, and unimproved roads utilizing a rating scale as defined in the PASER Gravel Roads Manual and the PASER Unimproved Roads Manual.

  • Conduct surface condition evaluations on aggregate roads, gravel roads, and unimproved roads using the PASER rating scale. This task constitutes 100% of the role.
Additional Information:
  • Training will be provided for the PASER Gravel Roads Manual and the PASER Unimproved Roads Manual.
  • Travel Requirements: Regular travel is expected during the standard workweek, Monday through Friday.
  • Overnight travel may be required during the normal workweek, Monday through Friday.
  • Health and Safety Considerations: Condition assessments may necessitate walking on uneven terrain and traversing extensive non-paved road surfaces.
  • Required Safety Equipment: Visible Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety vests and hard hats.
  • Safety Gear Usage: PPE must be worn while conducting surveys on the road for safety purposes.
  • Physical Demands: The position requires travel to perform road condition assessments on non-paved gravel roads in remote forest areas. Candidates may need to walk on non-paved roads to ascertain condition ratings.
