The Financial Operations Analyst plays a crucial role in executing financial tasks to ensure precise and timely reporting for both internal and external stakeholders. This position involves developing technical solutions to intricate business challenges by creating spreadsheets that assist junior staff. The analyst is responsible for maintaining performance management reports and ensuring accurate balance sheet and profit & loss reporting. This role is geared towards experienced professionals, focusing on tactical and transactional activities, particularly in handling exceptions.

Key Responsibilities

The primary duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting tactical data analysis and supporting analysts with moderately complex analytical tasks.
  • Communicating exception items with relevant departments to maintain data accuracy continuously.
  • Offering tactical recommendations based on data analysis, business context, and a solid understanding of systems.
  • Addressing escalated customer inquiries effectively.
  • Collaborating with management in operations, sales compensation, and sales teams.
  • Coordinating with processors regarding enrollment and billing matters.
  • Acting as a liaison with banking institutions concerning premium collection statuses.
  • Facilitating activities and providing training for junior associates.
  • Assisting with system testing for IT projects and implementing software releases within the Finance department.

Minimum Qualifications:

An AA/AS degree in accounting or finance is required, along with experience in relational databases and mainframe/client-server report writing. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will also be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A BA/BS degree is preferred, with experience in finance or health insurance sectors being advantageous.
