We are currently seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee diverse projects from our operational base. This role will involve collaboration with Project Managers on all facets of project execution, including initial meetings, job scheduling, and ensuring compliance with quality control and safety standards.
The selected candidate will be responsible for maintaining cost control and ensuring that project delivery aligns with established plans and specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage in preconstruction planning, conduct constructability reviews, and perform risk assessments;
- Identify and resolve issues proactively with minimal oversight;
- Ensure adherence to construction codes, safety regulations, and governmental standards;
- Support the maintenance of project schedules and cost control, while providing updates to stakeholders;
- Lead a diverse team of internal and external members, including subcontractors, ensuring compliance with project specifications;
- Foster strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and inspection authorities;
- Guarantee that all onsite activities are conducted safely, on schedule, within budget, and meet quality standards;
- Guide field personnel to ensure project completion aligns with original plans and specifications;
- Assist in preparing work schedules, determining manpower and material needs, and supervising the final punch list completion;
- Promote a culture of safety and encourage safe work practices;
- Monitor work performance to ensure compliance with specifications and safety requirements;
- Advise Project Managers of potential issues and assist in their resolution;
- Conduct daily site walkthroughs to ensure safety and health standards are upheld;
- Participate in all preparatory and quality control meetings;
- Generate daily reports on safety and other assigned activities;
- Maintain a positive work environment through effective communication and collaboration;
- Perform additional duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in construction management or a related field;
- 7+ years of experience in managing onsite construction operations;
- Experience in stakeholder communication and collaboration;
- Self-motivated and hands-on individual capable of working independently;
- Ability to quickly adapt to company policies, procedures, and software;
- Proficient in identifying and resolving issues as they arise;
- Driven to achieve results and ensure project success;
- Strong organizational skills to keep projects on track;
- Integrity and strong relationship-building capabilities.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to perform flexible tasks, including bending, kneeling, climbing, or reaching;
- Agility to navigate construction sites safely, including uneven surfaces and heights;
- Capability to lift and move items weighing up to 100 pounds;
- Proficient in the safe and effective use of hand and power tools;
- Ability to adapt to various weather conditions and exposure to noise.
