Occupational Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team at Post-Acute Rehab Solutions in Houston, TX. As a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping patients develop, recover, or maintain the skills needed for daily living and work.
Responsibilities:- Assess clients' needs and develop personalized treatment plans to support their engagement in occupations that promote health, well-being, and life quality.
- Select and adapt the most effective occupational therapy treatment models, methods, and approaches to direct interventions and maximize client outcomes.
- Apply interventions to enhance client safety and performance in activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
- Teach clients new strategies for approaching tasks and educate them on breaking down activities into achievable components.
- Assess clients' home and other environments and provide recommendations for alterations to support their needs and capabilities.
- Recommend adaptive equipment and train clients on its use.
- Guide and educate family members and caregivers on supporting clients' needs.
- Monitor and report on client progress toward long- and short-term treatment goals.
- Collect and document data on treatment processes and outcomes.
- Regularly follow up with clients to ensure ongoing support and progress.
- COTA certification is required.
- Experience in home care or rehab is preferred.
- Proven working experience as a Certified Occupational Therapist Assistant.
- Excellent knowledge of occupational therapy principles and practices.
- Hands-on experience with computer programs and creative media.
- Familiarity with ADLs evaluation tools, such as the Katz ADL scale and Lawton IADL scale.
- Ability to manage patients with diverse personalities and needs.
- Current knowledge of treatment practices and a commitment to ongoing learning and growth in the profession.
