Job Description

Job Summary:

Tacoma Community College is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Peer Advocate. As a Peer Advocate, you will play a vital role in supporting new and continuing Fresh Start students, directing them to campus and community resources, and performing basic clerical duties in support of the program.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist new and continuing Fresh Start students with navigating campus and community resources
  • Provide information about TCC student services and student support systems
  • Answer questions from students and prospective students regarding Fresh Start admissions and registration procedures
  • Handle confidential materials and information
  • Perform basic word processing tasks
  • Maintain Resource Room information/brochure racks
  • Perform outreach or special projects under the direction/supervision of Fresh Start staff

Requirements:

  • GPA of 2.30 or higher
  • Have attended TCC at least one quarter, preferably two quarters of attendance
  • Be a current Fresh Start Student at Tacoma Community College (preferred)

Working Conditions:

This is a part-time hourly position, scheduled to work varied hours up to 17 hours per week. The pay rate is $16.28 per hour. Flexibility in scheduling is required to meet department needs.
