Outpatient Rehabilitation Specialist - Physical Therapy - PRN

Biweekly Hours: 8.00

Position Overview:

Assesses and treats patients utilizing physical methods and therapeutic exercises aimed at preventing, correcting, or alleviating physical disabilities. The patient demographic spans from infants to the elderly. Adheres to the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required:
Bachelor's Degree, Master's Degree, or post-graduate certificate in Physical Therapy from an APTA-accredited institution. Must hold a valid Physical Therapist license in the State of Ohio. Current BLS certification is required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment. Willingness to travel to various locations is necessary.

Preferred:

Membership in the APTA

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to ambulate without assistive devices and maintain balance during patient support activities.
  • Capability to lift and maneuver patients' limbs during therapeutic exercises.
  • Manual dexterity and tactile sensitivity to assess muscle tension and monitor vital signs.
  • Adequate visual acuity to evaluate patients' movements and identify biomechanical issues.
  • Clear verbal communication skills to instruct patients and families.
  • Ability to comprehend patients' descriptions of symptoms and treatment responses.
Tasks frequently performed (25-75% of the time) include standing, sitting, walking, reaching, crouching, balancing, and lifting weights ranging from 5-25 pounds. Occasionally (5-25% of the time), tasks may involve stooping, climbing, and moving weights of 24-50 pounds.
