Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our team at Apex Systems. As a key member of our infrastructure team, you will be responsible for designing, planning, implementing, and supporting global compute, storage, backup, and disaster recovery infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) environments using Dell VxRail, Nutanix AHV, Cisco Hyperflex, and VMware.
  • Manage and maintain server inventories, patching, monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolving issues.
  • Implement changes using ITIL-based change management procedures.
  • Lead efforts towards automation and instrumentation of daily/weekly/monthly maintenance on infrastructure hardware endpoints.
  • Build pre-defined technical solutions to enhance performance, increase redundancy, and add flexibility to existing infrastructure.
  • Lead the replacement of compute/storage infrastructure in key client locations with corporate-approved technologies.
  • Assist in deploying a backup solution across EMG sites that is consistent with corporate guidelines and standards.
  • Evaluate and document current policies and practices against Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) requirements.
Requirements:
  • 5-7 years of senior-level experience managing Hyperconverged Infrastructure (HCI) environments.
  • 5-7 years of senior-level Virtualization experience (VMware or Microsoft Hypervisor).
  • Comprehensive background in managing Windows servers in an enterprise environment.
  • Practical experience managing computer/server objects in Active Directory.
  • Demonstrated experience with cloud-based compute solutions such as Azure, AWS, Google.
  • Experience deploying MS SQL.
  • Practical Linux experience.
  • Experienced in backup technologies such as Commvault, Symantec NetBackup, Rubrik, VEEM, or Cloud Backup technologies (Azure).
  • Experience planning and implementing disaster recovery solutions.
  • Demonstrated experience with server monitoring solutions.
  • Solid understanding of Network layers.
  • Experience developing PowerShell scripts.
Education:

Bachelor's Degree in Computing Sciences, Information System, or related areas.
