Job Summary

The Unit Clerk performs a variety of duties related to reception of patients/visitors, communication with the unit and medical staff, and other departments. This role requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, as well as basic data entry skills and medical terminology knowledge.

Key Responsibilities
  • Scanning in resident documents and updating electronic medical records
  • Creating admission and readmission packets, and updating room change information
  • Assisting the Director of Nursing with projects as needed, and scheduling appointments with healthcare professionals
  • Answering phones, faxing and accepting faxes, and picking up and distributing mail
  • Collecting documents for scanning and maintaining accurate records
