Labor and Delivery Nurse

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse to join our Labor and Delivery team at Las Palmas Medical Center. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to patients in the Labor and Delivery unit, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and medical conditions, and take appropriate action to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by physicians, and document patient care in the medical record.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements:
- Texas or Compact State Nursing License - RN required.
- BCLS Certification.
- NRP Certification (Chapters 1-9) within 3 months of hire or immediately with Newborn, Labor and Delivery/Antepartum experience.
- ACLS Certification within 6 months of hire or immediately if required at previous employer.
- Intermediate Fetal Monitoring through AWHONN within 6 months from finish of floor orientation.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited Nursing Program.
- Perinatal and neonatal healthcare experience preferred.
- S.T.A.B.L.E. course certification within 6 months of hire preferred.
- Lactation Educator or Consultant preferred.
- AWHONN member.
