Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Technician to join our team in the Emergency Department. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide continuous care and supervision to patients, ensuring a safe and secure environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with routine patient care activities, including vital sign collection, specimen collection, and point-of-care testing.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment by keeping hallways clear of excess equipment and supplies.
  • Assist visitors and answer telephones in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Follow and participate in patient care plans, collaborating with the multidisciplinary team to establish goals and restrictions.
  • Assist with the management of aggressive patients and monitor patients who require close observation.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in mental health or human services related field preferred.
  • Previous experience in healthcare or mental health preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Complete required Workplace Violence Prevention Training within 6 months of hire.
