Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Instructional Assistant/Bus Driver to join our team at Lee County Schools. As an Instructional Assistant/Bus Driver, you will provide support to teachers in the instruction of students, operate school buses, and maintain a safe and clean environment for students.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide instructional support to teachers, including giving group instruction, providing individualized instruction, and demonstrating various instructional activities.
  • Operate school buses safely and efficiently, ensuring the well-being of students and adhering to all traffic laws and school bus regulations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized school bus, ensuring that it is free of papers, bottles, cans, food wrappers, and other items that may present a safety problem.
  • Report any accidents or incidents to the Transportation Department and complete all necessary reports.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, parents, and school personnel.
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
  • CDL License with passenger school bus endorsement and current Bus Drivers Pocket Card.
  • Ability to comprehend the purpose of teacher-designed strategies and apply them effectively.
  • Ability to impart information to students at their level of comprehension.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information.
  • Considerable knowledge of safe and efficient practices and procedures used in the operation of a school bus.
