We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Instructional Assistant/Bus Driver to join our team at Lee County Schools. As a key member of our educational transportation team, you will provide support to teachers in the instruction of students and ensure the safe transportation of children on established or special routes.
Key Responsibilities- Provide instructional support to teachers in the classroom and other locations.
- Operate school buses safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and school bus regulations.
- Monitor student behavior and report any disciplinary issues to the teacher or principal.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, behavior, and progress.
- Participate in the development of discipline policies and procedures.
- Administer first aid and request assistance for non-routine injuries or illnesses.
- Ensure the cleanliness and organization of the school bus and its surroundings.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License with a good driving record.
- CDL License with passenger school bus endorsement and current Bus Drivers Pocket Card.
- Working knowledge of effective methods of dealing with children.
- Working knowledge of the core subjects at the grade level to which employment assignment is made.
- Ability to comprehend the purpose of teacher-designed strategies and apply them effectively.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality of student information and adhere to all safety regulations and standards.
This position requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment, handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and maintain a high level of attention to detail. The successful candidate will be able to work effectively with students, teachers, and other staff members to provide a safe and supportive learning environment.
