Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY
This role is crucial for overseeing the field operations within the Service Department, acting as the primary technical authority for all issues related to the safe and efficient functioning of equipment in the company’s service offerings.

The individual in this position will be responsible for the final assessment and resolution of equipment-related challenges. This includes providing timely assistance to all service technicians and managing the profitability of repairs and services across the company’s product range.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Develop and implement effective first-fix strategies and best practices for service technicians.
  • Optimize resource utilization to ensure equipment is repaired correctly on the initial visit.
  • Maintain professional and prompt communication with all clients.
  • Oversee the training and development of service technicians.
  • Assist the Sales team with repair estimations.
  • Guide Service Coordinators in scheduling repairs efficiently.
  • Provide timely assistance to Service Coordinators in managing callouts based on the company’s priority process.
  • Lead all service mechanics in the maintenance and servicing of commercial and residential elevators.
  • Foster a cohesive team environment to achieve collective goals.
  • Monitor and control expenditures to ensure justifiable returns on investment and competitive pricing for services and equipment.

PERFORMANCE INDICATORS
  • Maintain a billable/non-billable ratio of at least 45% for the service department.
  • Achieve a first-fix rate of 75% or higher over a rolling 90-day period.
  • Deliver high-quality repairs and service visits.
  • Ensure zero OSHA recordable incidents.
  • Contribute positively to team dynamics and improvement.
  • Exhibit a strong work ethic and collaborative spirit.
  • Keep accurate and comprehensive records of service and repair activities.
  • Uphold professional communication standards with clients and technicians.
