Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Student Account Specialist to join our team at West Coast University. As a key member of our financial services department, you will be responsible for ensuring timely collection of payments from students and maintaining accurate records of student accounts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Student Billing and Collections: Perform student billing and collection activities, issue receipts, and maintain documentation of billing and collection activities in student electronic files.
  • Account Management: Track and monitor student accounts in Campus Vue software, perform outreach to students regarding balances due, and ensure compliance with University collection policies.
  • Payment Processing: Accept and post payments for student accounts, prepare deposits for funds received, and maintain accurate documentation of same.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with colleagues in other departments and external agencies to resolve student issues or concerns regarding student accounts.
  • Account Auditing: Audit student accounts for accuracy, review accounts of upcoming graduates, and utilize transcript, registration, and other holds on student records.
Requirements
  • Experience: 3+ years of experience in a customer service or collections role, with at least one year of experience in a student services role at a college or university.
  • Education: High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University is preferred.
Work Environment

This role is based at the WCU Ontario Campus and requires a strong understanding of financial services and student account management principles.
